Storms formed late in the afternoon in a highly unstable environment, with surface based CAPE values between 4000 to 5000 J/kg. Hail from pea size to golf ball size resulted, along with rotating wall clouds, a brief, weak tornado in southeastern Tarrant County, and a few reports of damaging straight line winds.
