May 28, 2001 - Trinidad, Colorado Supercell and Funnel (Tornado?)

Storms fired on the eastern slopes of the Rocky Mountains, near the Colorado and New Mexico border.

	Looking north - After producing several large mesocyclones over the mountains west and northwest of Trinidad, the storm moved east of the Rockies into the Plains. Here the storm is over the interstate.
	Looking west at a wall cloud at sunset with a large inflow band flowing in from the ENE.
	As the wall cloud above was occluded, the rotating updraft was stretched and rotation concentrated. A fat funnel formed.
	The funnel lengthened, but I couldn't see a debris whirl underneath. However, a grove of trees blocked my view of the ground underneath the funnel.


	Looking north - Lightning illuminated the rope funnel.
