June 2, 1995 - Tulia, Texas Tornadic Supercell

This is the day of the well documented tornado at Dimmit, Texas. However, the tornado having the longest track was produced by the storm pictured below. The tornado was becoming organized when I shot these photos from the east side of Tulia, Texas. I had just driven non-stop from Dallas, and was low on gas. I drove into town, filled up the tank. However, the storm and tornado had raced off to the northeast in the interim.

While approaching Dimmit, reports were coming in through the local SKYWARN net of the large tornado at Dimmit (go here and here for photos and information on the Dimmit tornado).
